Sunil is a practicing community paediatrician, and epidemiologist. He joins Bradford having worked and trained in Leeds (Medicine & International Health), Newcastle (Paediatrics), and London/New Delhi (Epidemiology/Public Health), with research in the UK, India, and Kenya. Linked with policy efforts, his work has aimed to both understand the biological mechanisms underpinning optimal early childhood development, and to develop interventions aiming to improve life chances for all children during the critical early years.
He continues to be heavily involved with the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health where he is member of the Trustee Board and formerly led the International Child Health Group. Other background includes work within local and national government public health agencies, including a 12-month secondment advising a Chief Executive within the UK’s Department of Health.
Sunil will be working closely with the Born in Bradford and NIHR ARC teams as well as helping to develop the new Paediatric Research Group.
