Rebecca is a behavioural scientist, Director of the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Research Collaboration (PSRC), and a NIHR Senior Investigator. She holds a chair at the University of Leeds in the Psychology of Healthcare. Rebecca is theme lead for Improvement Science in the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration, academic lead for the Improvement Academy, and she is Director of the Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group, a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, clinicians and PhD students. The mission of this group is to ‘deliver research that makes healthcare safer’. Rebecca is a leading patient safety academic whose track record of solutions informed by theory and evidence has generated significant international impact. Her specific areas of focus are behavioural change for safety, workforce engagement and emotional wellbeing, patient involvement in safety, de-implementation and improving transitions of care.
