Meet MRVin: Our Mobile Research Vehicle Takes Shape!

We’re so excited to share that the Bradford Institute for Health Research’s very own Mobile Research Vehicle (MRV) – affectionately named “MRVin” (pronounced Marvin 😊) – is currently taking shape at NEAT construction company! This fully electric vehicle will soon be zooming around the Bradford District and Craven area, bringing research opportunities directly to our communities and helping us raise the profile of research.

Bradford’s newest research star is under construction and looking marvellous!

The transformation has been exciting to watch: First came the chassis – MRVin’s sturdy backbone

Next, the framework installation – giving our star its shape

Now electrical systems are being wired up – no crossed wires here!

As the photos show, MRVin is rapidly evolving from technical drawings to an impressive clinical space on wheels. The interior is coming together nicely with both a research area and waiting area/non-clinical space, while the exterior will soon sport eye-catching branding.

Once complete, this Mobile Research Vehicle will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment while maintaining a welcoming environment for participants. Keep your eyes peeled for MRVin’s distinctive look as it hopefully begins its journey around Bradford later this year!

This brilliant initiative is making research accessible for everyone. Who knew research could be so mobile?

This project was funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the BTHFT Hospitals Charity.
