Band 7
Fixed Term 12 Months (Maternity Cover)
Born in Bradford (BiB) is an internationally acclaimed applied research programme which vision to promote a healthier, fairer future for children living in deprived areas. Between 2007-2011 we recruited over 12,500 families to our Born in Bradford birth cohort and have been following the lives of children born to these families ever since. Our research programme following the cohort during the current phase of their lives is called ‘Born in Bradford: Age of Wonder’. This will involve following 30,000 young people in Bradford (including the original BiB cohort and their peers) from the age of 12 to 21 years old, working closely with schools, youth and community organisations to better understand how to keep young people health and happy and to reduce inequalities.
Main duties of the job
Our oldest Born in Bradford children have started to turn 18, and over the next few years the cohort will be navigating their transition to adulthood. We are in the process of designing and piloting the next phase of data collection as these young people leave formal education.
We have an exciting opportunity for a senior research fellow within the Age of Wonder quantitative research programme, with a fixed term post for 1 year covering maternity leave. They will play a key role in setting up and piloting this next phase of the research, ensuring young people are at the heart of the programme.
