Individual participant data meta-analysis (IPDMA) – a new frontier in multiple long-term conditions (MLTC) research

This is an open invite to the webinar on Individual participant data meta-analysis (IPDMA) – a new frontier in multiple long-term conditions (MLTC) research.

Individual clinical trials rarely analyse and report results from a multiple long-term conditions (MLTC) perspective – they look at the whole population. Individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis has the potential to transform evidence-based care for people with MLTC.

IPDMA involves the collection, preparation, validation and analysis of the original individual-level trial data recorded for each participant. It increases statistical power, enabling investigation of characteristics that predict treatment effects (e.g. MLTC, frailty, disability, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic position).

This seminar will introduce the concept of IPDMA and how it can be applied to MLTC, including an example of treatments for diabetes.

When: Wednesday 5th November, 12:30 – 13:30 pm

Format:  Zoom

Speakers:

Andrew Clegg, Professor of Geriatric Medicine
Tom Crocker, Associate Professor of Stroke Care
Peter Hanlon, Clinical Senior Research Fellow (General Practice & Primary Care)
