This workshop will be led by Professor Kate Pickett. Kate trained in biological anthropology at Cambridge, nutritional sciences at Cornell and epidemiology at UC-Berkeley. She is currently Professor of Epidemiology at the University of York, Academic Co-Director of Health Equity North and on the Executive of Born in Bradford.
In this session, Kate will share tips, advice and experiences related to carving out an independent research career and applying for funding through fellowships and research grants. The session will provide a space for attendees to think about their personal research interests and whether and how to develop as a research leader. This session is most suitable for early-career researchers who have not received substantial research funding. It is open to and suitable for qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method researchers.
