Congratulations to Marineo Llanaj on receiving the Early Career Impact Award at the Yorkshire and Humber RRDN Trauma and Emergency Care Regional Meeting. The NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) enables the health and care system to attract, optimise and deliver research across England.
This is a significant milestone in Neo’s career, recognising his valuable contribution to trauma and emergency care research. Neo began his journey as an oncology research nurse before moving into emergency care, where he now serves as Lead Research Nurse within the ED and trauma team at Bradford Institute for Health Research.
In just six months, the Trauma and Emergency Care Research team has made remarkable progress, already participating in three clinical trials . The team plays a vital role in developing and delivering studies focused on emergency care pathways—helping to improve patient outcomes, optimise urgent care processes, and evaluate innovations in ED practice. Their work is transforming urgent moments into opportunities for safer, more effective care.
Marineo Llanaj, Lead Research Nurse, Bradford Institute for Health Research said
“The last six months have been incredibly rewarding. Working alongside enthusiastic and dedicated colleagues has made every step meaningful. This award is not just a personal milestone; it reflects the hard work, passion, and momentum of the entire research team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Together, we’ve been expanding research activity, raising awareness, and contributing to a growing culture of research within the region.”
It was also a proud moment for the team as ED Consultant Dr Brian Tay received the Individual Contribution to Trauma and Emergency Care Research award. This recognition highlights the collective effort over the past year to expand and strengthen research within the Emergency Department.
Dr Tay, ED Consultant, Bradford Institute for Health Research said “It is a privilege to receive this award. The team has been working hard in recent months to expand research in the Emergency Department, and the trials we are involved in are a testament to that. These awards demonstrate the potential ahead, and I’m excited for the progress within our team.”
A huge well done to everyone involved—your dedication is making a real difference.
